About Indigo Ink
Founded in 2009 in Canton, Ohio, by Jessica Bennett, Indigo Ink is a nonprofit independent publisher of fiction, poetry and art.
In 2010, Indigo Ink plans to publish the first edition of Stark ARThology, a hardcover art volume. The book will be the first art anthology dedicated exclusively to the art of Stark County, Ohio, bringing together in one book the work of many eclectic, talented and creative visual artists. This regional title is funded in part through a $6,000 grant from ArtsinStark, Stark County’s Arts Council, and a portion of the proceeds from the publication will benefit ArtsinStark’s SmArts Program.
In 2011, the press plans the first of its fiction titles. Ultimately, Indigo Ink aims to publish between five and six titles per year in fiction, poetry and non-fiction, with the potential to grow even more over time with community support and literary acclaim.
Editorial Vision
E.M. Forster said that great literature “transforms the man who reads it toward the condition of the man who wrote and brings the birth in us also to creative impulse.”
We publish the work of new and burgeoning writers and artists – those who have the power to transform us, but need the means.
Ours are contemporary storytellers who weave plots around worlds unknown and characters not soon forgotten; bold poets who arouse and inspire, who hypnotize us with their words; and intoxicating artists whose fervor and fire blazes to life in their work and in our minds.
