Originally from England, Simon P. Clark (Old Bridge, NJ) graduated with a bachelor’s degree with honors in English literature from Bristol University before moving to Japan to teach for three years. From there he moved to New Jersey, where he works as a writer and children’s author. His children’s novels are represented in the United States and United Kingdom by The Bent Agency.

The Storyteller’s Jig is a retelling of the Pied Piper tale, replacing the lure of music with the power of a good story itself. A lot of my writing is really just an attempt to understand what it is that makes stories and tales so magical—what the real power inside them is and how it changes people. Good stories—the oldest legends and myths—have darkness as well as happiness, and it’s this that makes them so appealing to children, as the Storyteller well knows.
